Post Mt Everest-Summit In Kathmandu

Sorry for not updating you all earlier. It has been hectic since I came back from Tibet on Tuesday. Margaret and I actually walked back to the Courtyard hotel from the Altitude Junkies office and were greeted by many people 🙂

Tuesday Night I was the honorary guest at a dinner where there were several dignitaries and friends, including Vladas Vitkauskas. More stories here… Vladas was the first Lithuanian to climb Everest 20 years ago.  Yesterday we attended the 60th Anniversary, Diamond Anniversary of the first summit of My Everest.  60 Years since Hillary summited Mt Everest.  Margaret, her husband Tad, Paul and I went to the festivities before we went to dinner with Phil and Trish. What a blast we had, it was a late night.

Margaret is one of the most amazing, coolest people I have ever met. After all we have been through together the last few months, you cant imagine how hard it was to say goodbye today. But WE WILL see each other again soon…

Saying Good Bye, but will see you soon!

Saying Good Bye, but will see you soon!

I promise to update you more with some great pictures and I have some fantastic video that I will post. For now, I am still catching up with old and new friends.

It’s been quite a journey since the beginning of the Everest expedition. I would just like to say that without the support of my ‘home team’ – my dear partner Paul – I could never have done this alone. Without the support of Paul, without the support of my family in Lithuania, without the support and encouragement of my friends and supporters of my Everest for Sahel campaign, I would have never achieved my dream of Everest. I read all your comments and your notes and I cannot THANK EACH OF YOU enough for all your support and encouragements! This is so all so humbling to me and I’d like to say WE DID IT!!!

STAY TUNE for more pictures, videos and my detailed account of this amazing adventure.
